The Cultural Conservancy works to develop understanding between indigenous ecological knowledge and western science
We conduct trainings and
resource guides and develop ecological management plans with tribes, native communities, and EuroAmerican communities interested in honoring indigenous ways of knowing.

We restore damaged and "exotic" ecosystems (those dominated by invasive, non-native species) with culturally significant native plant communities that can be managed by local native caretakers.

Modern ecology tells us what every indigenous community knows:
"everything is connected" and we must learn about those connections and nurture them if we are to survive.

Indigenous peoples have always had their own traditional environmental knowledge and sacred sciences. These ecological traditions differ from western science, but are often more comprehensive because they see the web of nature as our extended family rather than as dead matter to be analyzed.
