Urban Garden In The Presidio
We have secured a small area of land for The Cultural Conservancy to use as a Native plant garden. We are part of a larger community garden area which is the only place one can safely grow food in the Presidio. We are seeking volunteers and financial resources to help us develop this garden. We would like our garden to be a sister garden to Lakota farmer Michael Sierra's Ta'S'ina Tokaheya Foundation. We met Michael last spring when he was in San Francisco seeking funding for his foundation, which manages a large, beautiful garden and teaches youth about the land.
