Claire Hope Cummings is a founder of The Cultural Conservancy and its predecessor organization, The Sacred Land Foundation.

As a lawyer, she has advised and represented traditional native peoples and their supporting environmental groups for almost twenty years, working to preserve their land based traditions. She originated the cultural conservation easement and the use of land trusts for native land conservation and continues to work with the Conservancy as a consultant.

Claire continues her love of the land through her long time association with agriculture, as a farmer and an activist. Currently, she writes and has a radio show devoted to food and farming.
